Baby Blue (baby) Booties

Adorable booties, they are so much fun to make! I lost count of the amount of baby booties I produced during my crochet career.

Every time I find new patterns I just need to try.
Right now I've got a really good excuse to make more because my sister is expecting again!

I like these because they look a bit macho... not totally baby-like. Yet by playing with colour you can make them look as sweet as candy.

Baby Mary Janes

Aren't these adorable.

I noticed them this morning and just had to make them.

They work up quite quickly and by adding a button of your choise, 

you add a little personal finishing touch.

They hardly use any yarn, a great project for your yarn left-overs.
Lovely as a present too!!

Slouchy Socks

Oh I simply love 'm, comfy warm house - socks.

A few weeks ago I made a pair for myself.
I must admit..... I wear them every day.

A was asked to make a pair of turqoise slippers.
I made them in size EU 36/37 for Christmas.

It is so much fun to try and find the perfect match for the job. I used several yarns, winded some into one thread and in the end I finished this crochet work with 3 yarns at the same time.

Sometimes you just have to try several ways to gain the right gauche,

I remember from my own childhood how lovely it was to get new PJ's from Sinterklaas (our Dutch Santa).

This order came form a mother who thinks the same. Her daughter will get a nice pair of warm and cosy house-socks to spend her winter in ;)

Of course a finishing touch by adding my Label to the crochet socks / slippers

Lovely

By adding a rubbery substance to the sole of the socks, I will prevent this "lady" from sliding on the floor.

It's quite handy! You can also put it on your socks or older slippers. I ordered it once from Germany.

Eskimo booties

I was being asked by my boyfriend to make a pair of baby booties. One of his colleagues is expecting a little one soon. 

I still have a load of orders standing out, but I like to switch in between to maintain variety in my crochet work and to not let my quality slip by working too long on the same product.

Since I don't know if it will be a boy or girl I made a pair which matches both genders. Main goal is to make them "happy" and standing out.

I actually think that concept worked quite alright on this pair.

Don't you just love the fur collar? 

 For this pair I used different types of yarn. (as I usually do)
I used Baby Alpaca (blue and green), acrylic (brown) and some mix for the fur (probably synthetic).

Crochet hook: 3.5 mm.

Comfy Cozy boots

Oh, how I love this season. During the day it is lovely to go outside. The woods smell so fresh, like you're walking through a field of mushrooms (which you actually are).

Then, getting back inside, lighting up the fire-place and slipping into your comfy warm house-boots.

Searching for my slippers (since they had been stashed away during the summer) I found a worn out pair, screeming to be thrown out..... hrmmm.

Well.... no problem! I'll crochet a pair myself.

I love 'm!

They are really comfy and warm. I added rubber dots underneath so I won't slide and fall.

The pattern suggests hook 6 mm, I used a 7mm though combined with two strands, one for 6mm hook and one for a 4 mm hook.

Tip: make one sole and then check if it measures your size. Adjust jarn and needle to required size. The pattern is written quite small.

Think Pink Booties

Voetjes groeien snel en aangezien het weer niet meer een en al zonneschijn is, 

wordt het tijd voor een setje nieuwe gehaakte sloffen. 

Deze keer heb ik een dubbele draad gebruikt voor het schoentje en ook voor de zool.

De kraag heb ik weer van een dunne draad gehaakt. Het leuke van slofjes haken, is dat je allemaal kleine beetjes wol op kunt maken. Deze zijn gemaakt van restantjes acryl draad, daarnaast zit er ook wollen tweed draad die heb ik in de zool verwerkt.

Het kraagje heb ik gehaakt met de granny steek, deze gebruik je ook voor het maken van granny squares. Eigenlijk een leuke steek waarmee je veel kunt variëren.

Deze slofjes zijn gemaakt voor mijn eigen dochter. 

Maar natuurlijk maak ik deze slofjes ook op bestelling.

Ocean Blues

Omdat ik nog garen overhad van mijn bol Lang Yarns, Jawoll magic (zie mijn blog over opspannen), heb ik van het restje een paar slofjes gehaakt. Dit keer met een bontkraagje over de zijkanten en bovenkant.

De knoopjes zijn ook handgemaakt. Ik heb ze gemaakt van fimo klei en ze uitgesneden met een marsepein stempeltje. De bodem van de schoentjes is een azuurblauw acryl garen.

De slofjes zijn gemaakt voor een baby'tje van 3 - 6 maanden, ze zijn te vinden in mijn Etsy winkel.

Mini UGGS

Deze slofjes zijn toch net grote dames of heren UGGS?
Zo lief! Ik heb ze gemaakt voor een baby van 6 - 12 maanden.

De zool is gemaakt van donkerbruin katoendraad, de bovenkant is gemaakt met Lang Yarns Novena, een hele mooie gemêleerde draad van 50% wol / 30% alpaca (een soort lamawol) / 20% polyamide.
Een hele luchtige draad met charmant effect. Ik heb de bovenzijde met een dubbele draad gewerkt om het slofje iets meer "body" / stevigheid te geven.

Echt een slofje voor de winter want door zijn dubbele dikte om de hals, is dit een lekker warm winters slofje.
(wat dus totaal niet past bij de huidige temperaturen van 28c, dus zie het als voorbereiding op de winter)

Nieuwe baby booties

De vorige slofjes waren binnen een paar dagen van de plank verdwenen. Weg voorraad. Dus snel weer aan de slag.
Zijn ze niet snoezig? Afgelopen week gewerkt aan een setje slofjes voor een meisje. Lieve zachte pastelkleurtjes. Maatje 3 - 6 maanden.

Er blijft bij mij een soort eeuwige liefde voor het maken van baby slofjes.
Ze zijn altijd zo schattig.
